St Dubricius Church in Porlock opens its doors on Saturday 19th October for its annual Open Day. Bigger, and hopefully better than ever, there’s something for everyone whether visitors are seeking history, entertainment or would simply like to come along for free refreshments.
The Open Day kicks off with the chance to have a go at bell-ringing, followed by mini talks on a variety of topics: The Architecture of the Church; St Dubricius and the Faith in His Time; Medicine Throughout the Life of the Church; and a Tribute to Porlock’s Fallen. Guest speakers include retired local GP, Dr Ian Kelham; Exmoor Writer, Tony Pinnington and Journalist and Historian, Jeff Cox.
In between the presentations visitors will be entertained by musicians and get the chance to Singalong at Teatime with the very popular Friends in Harmony. Full details of the timings of all the presentations and entertainment can be found on the Open Day poster on the church railings and above.
